There are a variety of ways to classify health; however, one common framework defines six different types of health:
Physical Health
This is the general health of your body and its systems. Physical health encompasses factors like how fit you are, your body’s structure, and your resistance to illness and injuries.
Mental Health
This is a reference to your mental and emotional health. Mental health can be defined as your capacity to deal with anxiety keep positive relationships and control your emotions and thoughts.
Social Health
This refers to your capacity to connect with others and make meaningful connections. Social health is a combination of factors such as your communication abilities as well as your ability to form connections and keep them, as well as your feeling of belonging to the community.
Emotional Health
This is the ability to control your emotions and to safely communicate them. The emotional health of your body includes factors such as the ability to be aware of and manage your emotions, manage stress and keep an optimistic outlook.
Spiritual Health
This is a reference to your sense of purpose and purpose in life. Spiritual health encompasses aspects like your values, beliefs, and a connection to something bigger that is greater than you.
Environmental Health
This is the influence of your environment upon your overall health. The environmental health aspect includes things like the quality of water, air and food items, as well as exposure to toxins and pollution.
